Our new showroom at our headquarters in Lisburn, Northern Ireland allows customers to view products, attend appointments for assessments and call in for a warm welcome and helpful advice. Our customers can enjoy all the facilities in a bright and comfortable environment. The showroom has ample customer parking with designated disabled parking, full disabled access ramps and a coffee bar so browsing for products can be an enjoyable experience. Staff are always on hand to help ensure you get the products you need at a reasonable price.

The showroom is open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and visitors are always welcome!

John Preston & Co's Lynne Breen in collaboration with our Specilaist Seating Consultant Fiona Collins have recently produced a fantastic new resource for therapists. The "Specialist Seating - A Therapist' Handbook" was first launched last week at our Specialist Seating Symposium at Crowne Plaza Hotel in dundalk. The day and the Handbook were a great sucess and feedback since has been superb. The handbook acts as a guide to specialist seating giving tips on the assessment process, product information and details and helpful tips and advice directly aimed at Occupational therapists.

Therapists have remarked that is is a wonderful idea to have the knowledge and expertise of both patients and products behind the production of this helpful resource. Lynne and Fiona have worked closely with patients, therapist and manufacturers in order to produce a document which is most practical and useful.

Fiona is an occupational therapist with 20 years experience inpressure ulcer prevention and management - specialising specifically in posture and seating. Fiona's Clinical expertise has gained her a national reputation within the seating arena. Fiona's advise is constantly sought by clinicans, industry and professional bodies. Lynne has a wide knowledge of specialist seating products, patient needs and top manufacturers and her passion for posture and pressure damage prevention is clearly evident from this document.

At the AOTI conference on the 17th April in Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny we will be launching the brand new "Preston Modular Series". Many thanks to Emily Millar and Linda Simms (Moving and Handling advisors in Northern Trust) who organised a demonstration day for the numerous items recently placed on contract. From this year Infection Control Week will be the same as International Infection Prevention week 14th-20th October 2007. During the week, health-care facilities worldwide are encouraged to conduct special educational activities to emphasize adherence to practices that can prevent infections (e.g., proper hand hygiene).

The Netti Range is manufactured by Alu Rehab, who have developed wheelchairs for the Norwegian and the international market since the start of 1989. All Netti wheelchairs are developed together with users, therapists, nursing personell, designers and producers. Assure Plus is a brand new range of anti-microbial hard surface wipes and sprays together with hand sanitizing mousse products specifically designed for us in the healthcare environment.

PRIME MINISTER DECLARES WAR ON MRSA AND C.D.

Gordon Brown pledges hospital bug battle

NHS hospitals are to be ordered by Prime Minister Gordon Brown to conduct a ‘deep clean’ to tackle the spread of infections such as ‘superbug’ MRSA”

In the News of the World, he vowed that over the next 12 months all hospitals would be restored to a pristine state of cleanliness to rid them of infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile.

He said: “A ward at a time, walls, ceilings, fittings and ventilation shafts will be disinfected and scrubbed clean. ”

The Mobility Exhibition enables people with disabilities, their families and friends, carers and professionals to view and experience the very latest in personal and home equipment and mobility solutions aimed at personal independence.

The exhibition, which is the largest exhibition in Northern Ireland, is now a popular and prominent calendar event for both disabled and non-disabled people in Northern Ireland.

The exhibition is organised by Disability Action, Northern Ireland's largest pan-disability charity.

The Association of Occupational Therapists Ireland Annual conference this year was a very special event as it marks the 40th Anniversary of AOTI.

Nick Cooke and Lynne Breen attended the conference held at Stillorgan Park hotel to represent the company and to exhibit a range of our specialist products.

Lynne & Nick were joined at the event by Steve Preston and Dan Fitton from Careflex. Careflex are the manufacturers of the Hydrotilt and Hydroform which were being exhibited.

In February, Ballymoney Soroptomists raised funds to buy a Hydrotilt Chair for the Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ballymoney. Lynne attended the handover of this donation as our company representative.
Sister Ann Bradley was then delighted to recieve the chair on behalf of the Hospital from Dr Betty Mc Gavock, President of Ballymoney Soroptomists.
